Employee Volunteerism

Our employees are encouraged to use two workdays a year to volunteer at company-sponsored events that support nonprofit organizations.

Whether it's for larger organizations like the United Way and Special Olympics, or working at local food pantries and parks, we recognize that partnerships with charitable organizations complement our mission to deliver reliable energy and superior customer service.

More than 5,700 employees and their families volunteered over 29,000 hours at company-sponsored events, both in person and virtually, throughout the service territory in 2024.

Volunteering Spotlight

We partner with the Connecticut River Conservancy each September for their annual Source to Sea Clean-up, removing trash from the river and surrounding land to help protect and preserve this vital natural resource.

Our employee volunteers helped keep Union Pond in Manchester, Connecticut, free of debris and bags of trash.
In Massachusetts, our employee volunteers spread out along the Connecticut River Bikeway in Springfield to remove bags of trash from the riverbeds.
Our employee volunteers helped keep the Bobby Woodman Trail in Claremont, New Hampshire, free of debris by removing dozens of bags of trash.
